SOLD!

'After Aladdin'
Pen & Ink on Bristol Board 13" x 17"
Eric Goldberg Master Animator
Los Angeles, CA

Eric Goldberg is recognized by his peers and animation students everywhere as the preeminent practitioner of broad, cartoony, hand-drawn animation.  Influenced by the masters of the past at Warner Bros and Disney Eric infused modern Disney films with highly memorable characters like Aladdin's Genie voiced by Robin Williams,  'Hercules' Phil voiced by Danny Devito and Louis the alligator in 'The Princess & the Frog' .
Eric co-directed Disney's 'Pocahontas' and supervised the exquisite animation in Fantasia 2000s 'rhapsody In Blue' inspired by the artwork of cartoonist Al Hirschfeld. The design of 'Aladdin' was also informed by the work of Hirschfeld and Eric's drawing for this auction represents his vision of what the film may have looked like had it been designed by the savage pen of Ronald Searle instead!
Eric's personal work is rarely available so this opportunity to own a drawing by him influenced by TWO master cartoonists won't come up again soon.

Shipping fee negotiable. All proceeds go towards mounting the 'Searle In America' exhibition at the non-profit Cartoon Art Museum, San Francisco this November.
